So good to see some of the local hospitality and beauty businesses reopening their doors today. As you may already know, under state government guidelines, cafes and restaurants will be required to have 1.5 meters between tables, and only 20 people will be permitted per enclosed space with a density of one person per four square metres. They will also be required to record the contact details of all diners. Please be understanding and patient with the businesses while they navigate their way through these tricky times.
Restaurants, cafes, beauty salons and tattoo parlours are able to complete a COVID-19 self-assessment and on meeting all of the requirements set by Council’s Public Health Unit, they will receive a COVID-19 Certificate of Assessment which they can display.
The aim of this is to help businesses safely resume operations whilst still keeping within the requirements of the restrictions and to provide reassurance to customers keen to venture back out again. Environmental Health Officers have been conducting inspections throughout the pandemic to ensure compliance with food safety, and public health standards.
Come and support our local businesses while they get back in to the swing of things. Williamstown locals have already been so amazingly loyal to the local businesses, who will continue to need our custom while they rebuild under the new restrictions. We definitely want our businesses to survive what has been one of the most challenging times, we’re sure, many of them have faced.
We would like to take this opportunity as well to bid a sad farewell to a local favourite - @mezmezcafe
You only need to read the comments and love on social media to see how well regarded this business was and how much it will be missed. We wish Amin, Yvonne and Poppy the best of luck and hope we see them pop up somewhere local again in the near future.
