It’s Ballerina Tuesday ✨🩰 and I have something really special to share!
This ballerina, Ava, and I did our first photoshoot together last summer. Since then, we have done more shoots together, and she has started her journey in the professional ballet program at the Quinte Ballet School of Canada. Let’s just say it’s been an amazing journey!
She will forever be the first of the Caitlyn Mary Ballerinas, and I can’t be more thankful to have met and worked with such a talented, beautiful, and sweet young woman.
She was such a trooper through all of our shoots together, being en pointe (right up on your toes in those special shoes!) for long periods of time, and being ever so patient with me while I played with my camera settings lol.
This photo is probably my favourite ballerina photo of all time. It was taken in a magical little place called Bloomfield, where quaint little shops thrive amongst a small and beautiful community. She is actually sitting on the steps of one of these little shops on the Main Street.
Today I am excited to share this post because I get to show you the real ballerina with her painting, as well as the original photograph that guided the oil portrait— which I think is so so special. It hits me a little harder when I see my ballerinas holding their paintings... realizing how meaningful this work really is and the beautiful purpose it serves. I couldn’t ask for any better reward.
